Jay Denz, Board President
Hello everyone, my name is Jay Denz, and I’m a member of the Board of Directors of The Gardens. I served as the first president of our association for three years, beginning when it was formed in 2010 and I’ve held varying positions on our board and the Master Association board over the past 10 years.
My wife, Joyce, and I have been married for 52 years. We retired after owning an auto parts and repair business in Chicago for more than 25 years. Our northern home is Avon, IN. Joyce and I love walking our Welsh Terrier, Gracie, and biking, golf and pickleball. Our favorite beaches are Barefoot & Bonita where Joyce always finds beautiful shells and I take lots of pictures.
We have two young granddaughters who love it when they come with our son and his wife to visit us at our vacation condo here.
Christopher Potts, Secretary-Treasurer
Chris and his wife Anitra own a small business in Lafayette, Indiana. Chris has previously served on a Condo Board of Directors elsewhere in Bonita Springs. Chris and Anitra bought their condo in The Gardens at Bermuda Links in 2019, and travel between Bonita and Indiana several times a year.
Vivien Canning, Vice President
Vivien is originally from the UK, and has been living in Toronto, Canada since 1980. Her sister is a year-round resident of Naples, and Vivien and Paul purchased their condo in the Gardens in May 2007. Since Paul’s retirement in 2009 he has spent winters in Bonita. Vivien has been volunteering all her life. She recently retired from managing one of Toronto’s busiest libraries. Paul and Vivien have a busy blended family of four thirtysomethings, plus the associated spouses, children and pets.
Jim Magirl, Board Member
Jim and his wife Sherry moved to Florida in 2015 from eastern Iowa, where Jim worked as an officer for the Iowa DNR for over 30 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Jim and Sherry are full-time residents of the Gardens.
